“Photography: Painting and Drawing with Light”
INTRODUCTION
Another cold, wintery early morning start for this photography adventure! We decided to visit another part of the Lake Eildon region, Victoria – Australia, that being Jerusalem Creek. Jerusalem Creek while wet and cold offered some surreal photographic opportunities. Some moments we experienced dark rainy conditions, and then within minutes, we experienced moments where the sun peeped out from behind clouds to illuminate the newly sprouted green grass river bed. Darkened trees that during good seasons would be partially submerged in the lake’s water, now stood blackened by the morning rain, a stake environment. My dear hubby was a great help during the morning, assisting me to keep the camera dry, and lugging the equipment around and over the rain-drenched river bed. On our way back home, we travelled along Mt Pinniger Road, Eildon to Foggs Lookout where I was able to photograph panoramic views of Lake Eildon. While we were rain-drenched ourselves, the morning was a great adventure and a wonderful time to be out-and-about exploring what nature has to offer…
PHOTOGRAPHY EQUIPMENT USED
During this photography adventure – I used a compact system camera, a Sony A7 Mark II – Full Frame with a Sony A FE24-240mm F3.5-6.3 OSS lens. Recently I had purchased a Right Angle L Plate Bracket for my camera so that I could turn it to do portraits or landscape photographs more easily which worked a treat. I also purchased a BH-40 Ballhead for my tripod and once more, it made taking my photographs not just easier but much more enjoyable. I also used my Apple iPhone 8 Plus mobile phone for quick spontaneous photographs and gain GPS location readings.
THE PHOTOGRAPHS
On my return home, I downloaded all the photographs into Adobe Lightroom Classic CC. I developed a small selection of photographs. During the process of developing then I was able to see what I needed to address during my next photographic adventure. Please find both above and below, the best of what I took during this photography adventure!
CONCLUSION
Being out-and-about experiencing the natural wonders of the world and the creatures it inhabits – really does rejuvenate the body and soul. Photography is just another way to improve one’s sense of wellbeing and at the same time – be creative!

Rain….what is that? All my recent photos, while having a deceptive green tinge, show quite clearly how the drought (and cold) are effecting this part of southern NSW.

Hi…yes understand your comment, for some in Australia, it is very difficult due to the lack of rain. And in Victoria, that is one of the reasons I do love wintertime photography because our winter rains transform the landscape into lush green fields and forests and when summertime arrives again turning back into sun-baked landscapes. What an interesting location. It must have been challenging to get the pictures in those conditions but well worth the effort. Just the sort of place I would like to visit for the photographic opportunities it offers.

Hi Jessica, yes it was an interesting location and during wintertime, there are no holidaymakers so very peaceful, quiet and just really beautiful. We really enjoyed our time there despite the rain…warm regards Karen
