INTRODUCTION

My hubby and I decided to go back to a location that had a view across Port Phillip Bay from Ferguson Street Pier in Williamstown, Victoria – Australia for this photography adventure.  Fortunately for us, the early morning was pleasant – no wild winter winds to bother our walk along the pier and shoreline! From this advantage point, I was able to photograph across Port Phillip Bay towards Melbourne’s city skyline while the last of the night’s street and city lights glowed before sunrise.  Anchored Yachts rested in plain sight with a couple of exceptions, one being a keen yachtsman heading out for an early morning joy ride around the bay and the other, a large container ship heading in from the open seas towards Port Phillip Bay’s container shipping docking area.  After I had satisfied myself that I had taken enough photographs of this location, we headed off for a much-needed cup of coffee and a chat about how we had enjoyed the fresh sea air and the sunrise – the birth of a new day…

PHOTOGRAPHY EQUIPMENT USED

During this photography adventure – I used a compact system camera, a Sony A7 Mark II – Full Frame with a Sony A FE24-240mm F3.5-6.3 OSS lens. Recently I had purchased a Right Angle L Plate Bracket for my camera so that I could turn it to do portraits or landscape photographs more easily which worked a treat.  I also purchased a BH-40 Ballhead for my tripod and once more, it made taking my photographs not just easier but much more enjoyable. I also used my Apple iPhone 8 Plus mobile phone for quick spontaneous photographs and gain GPS location readings.

THE PHOTOGRAPHS

On my return home, I downloaded all the photographs into Adobe Lightroom Classic CC.  I developed a small selection of photographs During the process of developing then I was able to see what I needed to address during my next photographic adventure.   Please find both above and below, the best of what I took during this photography adventure!

CONCLUSION

Being out-and-about experiencing the natural wonders of the world and the creatures it inhabits – really does rejuvenate the body and soul.  Photography is just another way to improve one’s sense of wellbeing and at the same time – be creative!
