INTRODUCTION

During this photography adventure, my hubby and I decided to take a trip to the coastline.  We ended up at the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria – Australia. We stopped at three locations being Portsea back beach at the London Bridge Lookout, Sorrento’s back beach at Jubilee Point, and also Portsea Pier front beach.  It was such a beautiful day and our early morning start meant we were at Portsea back beach for the sunrise.  Expansive panoramic views of the open seas and long stretches of golden sandy beaches with historic rock formations became the stars of our photography adventure for the day.  We stopped off at a little cafe near the Portsea Pier for a cuppa and bite to eat before heading back home. It was a long day and we were tired by the time we got there but once more, our photography adventure was worth the effort!

PHOTOGRAPHY EQUIPMENT USED

During this photography adventure – I used a compact system camera, a Sony A7 Mark II – Full Frame with a Sony A FE24-240mm F3.5-6.3 OSS lens. Recently I had purchased a Right Angle L Plate Bracket for my camera so that I could turn it to do portraits or landscape photographs more easily which worked a treat.  I also purchased a BH-40 Ballhead for my tripod and once more, it made taking my photographs not just easier but much more enjoyable. I also used my Apple iPhone 8 Plus mobile phone for quick spontaneous photographs and gain GPS location readings.

THE PHOTOGRAPHS

On my return home, I downloaded all the photographs into Adobe Lightroom Classic.  I developed a small selection of photographs During the process of developing then I was able to see what I needed to address during my next photographic adventure.   Please find above only, the best of what I took during this photography adventure!

PHOTOGRAPHY ABSTRACTION

The photographs below are my attempt at being more creative!  I wanted to experiment more during the photo processing/development stage in Lightroom Classic and these are the results.  I feel they will come under the title of ‘Photography Abstraction’ in the future for me.  It’s a lot of fun playing around in Lightroom Classic to see how photographs can be manipulated – hope you like them.

CONCLUSION

Being out-and-about experiencing the natural wonders of the world and the creatures it inhabits – really does rejuvenate the body and soul.  Photography is just another way to improve one’s sense of wellbeing and at the same time – be creative!

Happy photography all – © Karen Robinson – August 2019
