“Photography: Painting and Drawing with Light”
INTRODUCTION
This was an unexpected, unplanned photography adventure. We had just finished watching the Australian Boomers playing the USA Basketball team at Marvel Stadium when on our way from the Stadium to the Southern Cross Railway Station, I decided to take some photographs on my iPhone. Only had my iPhone as no cameras were allowed in the Stadium with the exception of our mobile phone cameras. Some of the 52,000 people who attended the game were now heading along a pathway to the station to catch a train back home. I have to admit, I do love street photography but it can be a little intimidating for both me as the photographer and for some of those who find themselves within the shot. What I liked most about this experience was the ease of being able to take a photograph on my iPhone, even though the quality of said isn’t the same as my Sony Camera and lens, it just makes the whole process much easier to do. Featured within these photographs are people from all walks of life who came together to watch a game of basketball; and the wonderful architecture that can be found within this region of the city of Melbourne, Victoria – Australia. Its got me thinking and wanting to do more street photography in the future for sure!
PHOTOGRAPHY EQUIPMENT USED
During this photography adventure – I also used my Apple iPhone 8 Plus mobile phone handheld for quick spontaneous photographs and gain GPS location readings.
THE PHOTOGRAPHS
On my return home, I downloaded all the photographs into Adobe Lightroom Classic. I developed a small selection of photographs. During the process of developing then I was able to see what I needed to address during my next photographic adventure. Please find above only, the best of what I took during this photography adventure!
CONCLUSION
Being out-and-about experiencing the wonders of the world and the creatures (that being us humans) it inhabits – really does rejuvenate the body and soul. Photography is just another way to improve one’s sense of wellbeing and at the same time – be creative!
