“Photography:  Painting and Drawing with Light”

INTRODUCTION

During our driving trip up to Bright, Victoria – Australia, we stopped at a number of scenic spots during this photography adventure. Our first stop was at a farm on Snow River Road, Markwood where old gum trees were growing in a shallow pond that was supporting local native wildlife. We then took a small detour along Nug Nug Road, Nug Nug where we discovered cattle happily grazing on bright green pastures that were backdropped by heavily forested mountain ranges, set far in the distance.  Then onto Myrtleford next to the Ovens River.  Here my hubby discovered a beautiful part of the river. Freshly melted aqua blue snow from distant mountains flowed endlessly across river rocks making them bright orange.  From here it was onto Mount Buffalo along Mount Buffalo Road up in the high mountains to the Mount Buffalo Lookout region. We found stunning panoramic views across valleys and beyond.  On our way back home we eventually stopped at Bright. We had a great dinner at the local hotel and then back home later that evening.  It was a very big day for us both but I was able to capture photographs of our beautiful Victoria – Australia at one of the best times of the year-end…

PHOTOGRAPHY EQUIPMENT USED

During this photography adventure – I used a compact system camera, a Sony A7 Mark II – Full Frame with a Sony A FE24-240mm F3.5-6.3 OSS lens. Recently I had purchased a Right Angle L Plate Bracket for my camera so that I could turn it to do portraits or landscape photographs more easily which worked a treat.  I also purchased a BH-40 Ballhead for my tripod and once more, it made taking my photographs not just easier but much more enjoyable. I also used my Apple iPhone 8 Plus mobile phone for quick spontaneous photographs and gain GPS location readings.

THE PHOTOGRAPHS

On my return home, I downloaded all the photographs into Adobe Lightroom Classic CC.  I developed a small selection of photographs During the process of developing then I was able to see what I needed to address during my next photographic adventure.   Please find above only, the best of what I took during this photography adventure!
