“Photography: Painting and Drawing with Light”
INTRODUCTION
Some of our photography adventures take us to places where my hubby can do a spot of fishing. One of his favourite locations is Acheron, Victoria – Australia where the Goulburn River runs closely alongside local farming properties. While hubby fished I photographed points of interest along the well-trodden path beside the river. It was a beautiful spring day, the temperature just right for being out-and-about. No fish for dinner but still a most enjoyable photography adventure for sure!
PHOTOGRAPHY EQUIPMENT USED
During this photography adventure – I used a compact system camera, a Sony A7 Mark II – Full Frame with a Sony A FE24-240mm F3.5-6.3 OSS lens. Recently I had purchased a Right Angle L Plate Bracket for my camera so that I could turn it to do portraits or landscape photographs more easily which worked a treat. I also purchased a BH-40 Ballhead for my tripod and once more, it made taking my photographs not just easier but much more enjoyable. I also used my Apple iPhone 8 Plus mobile phone for quick spontaneous photographs and gain GPS location readings.
THE PHOTOGRAPHS
On my return home, I downloaded all the photographs into Adobe Lightroom Classic. I developed a small selection of photographs. During the process of developing then I was able to see what I needed to address during my next photographic adventure. Please find here above and below, the best of what I took during this photography adventure!
CONCLUSION
Being out-and-about experiencing the natural wonders of the world and the creatures it inhabits – really does rejuvenate the body and soul. Photography is just another way to improve one’s sense of wellbeing and at the same time – be creative!

I love the one with the low hanging cloud. And the lone tree is in a class by itself. So desolate and enduring.

Thank you, Claudia. The low hanging cloud was an odd-looking view from where I was standing. Usually, by that time of the morning, this kind of clouds have dispersed but it stayed for most of the morning. The loney tree was situated up on top of a hill and I photographed it with my long lens – it looked best as a black and white photograph…warm regards Karen
