INTRODUCTION

Troubling times and with the constant concern of either catching the Corona Virus and/or becoming a carrier of it means we currently live in fear and uncertainty. Its times like these that I revert back to my old mantra ‘doing something each day that ticks the happy box‘ to ensure I can maintain a good sense of wellbeing both in body and soul. So I can be a positive influence within my family circle and one with those I have some sort of relationship with – be it work or hobby-wise.  So hubby and I decided to do a photography adventure back to a region we had visited so time ago – Mount Macedon, Victoria – Australia.  Now we didn’t make contact with other people, respecting the requirement of ‘social distancing‘ which meant a drive through Mount Macedon Regional Park around the Sanatorium Lake area was perfect – not a soul to be seen.  And this was before more stringent community requirements had been put in place. The early morning drive through this beautiful region revealed misty forests and lush green vegetation.  We drove along mostly unfrequented tracks and roads – truly magical, tranquil and spiritually rejuvenating experience.

Special Note:  Thank you to all those in the service of helping people be safe, recover from illness, help keep us in supplies of food and other necessities … sincerely and with much gratitude…from us photography adventurers!

PHOTOGRAPHY EQUIPMENT USED

During this photography adventure – I used a compact system camera, a Sony A7 Mark II – Full Frame with a Sony A FE24-240mm F3.5-6.3 OSS lens. Also used a Right Angle L Plate Bracket for my camera so that I could turn it to do portraits or landscape photographs more easily which worked a treat.  I use a BH-40 Ballhead for my tripod which helps make taking my photographs not just easier but much more enjoyable. During these photography adventures, I use an Apple iPhone 8 Plus mobile phone for quick spontaneous photographs and to ensure I gain GPS location readings.

THE PHOTOGRAPHS

On my return home, I downloaded all the photographs into Adobe Lightroom Classic.  I developed a small selection of photographs During the process of developing then I was able to see what I needed to address during my next photographic adventure.   Please find here above and below, the best of what I took during this photography adventure!

CONCLUSION

Being out-and-about experiencing the natural wonders of the world and the creatures it inhabits – really does rejuvenate the body and soul. Photography is just another way to improve one’s sense of wellbeing and at the same time – be creative!

Happy photography all – © Karen Robinson – March 2020

    • Hi Denise, thank you – it was great to have been able to take photographs in those conditions. It can be difficult to work out when best to visit such an area hoping for mist/fog and we were lucky this time…warm regards Karen
