INTRODUCTION

Another short photography adventure.  This time to the region of Trawool, Victoria – Australia. A lovely drive along Greenslopes Road revealed honey-coloured grasslands, granite statue-like boulders, and gum trees with lush green foliage evidence of receiving good rainfalls during last winter. Tree covered mountain ranges, waterholes with actual water still in them, and glimpses of the Goulburn River all made for a beautiful Australian landscape scene.

Above Photograph:  The above landscape photograph features huge granite boulders resting on a hill and looks out over towards a line of trees where the Goulburn River gently rolls by.  Far into the distance, near these trees, little black dots are actually cattle which helps demonstrate the size and distance of this landscape.

Below Photograph:  The below landscape photograph was taken by my hubby on my mobile phone for a GPS reading.  It helps the viewer appreciate just how big this landscape is and how large those granite boulders are!  I am just there in front of one with my camera equipment, photographing the scene.

Below Photographs:  The bird photos below were taken on our way back home along the same road and beside the Goulburn River.  Access was difficult due to the high riverbanks.  But while waiting for my hubby while he fished, I managed to get a couple of bird photos, not as good as I would have liked, couldn’t get close enough and my bird lens couldn’t get close enough either.  But it’s nice to have them anyway.  One a Grey Fantail drying off in the sun on some bush twigs and the other a Sulphur Crested Cockatoo resting in a beautiful River Gumtree.

CONCLUSION

Photography is just another way to improve one’s sense of wellbeing and at the same time – be creative. Being out-and-about experiencing the wonders of the world and the creatures it inhabits is a real privilege for sure. It really does rejuvenate the body and soul.

INTRODUCTION

Below is a collection of some of my favourite Bird photographs I have taken over time when hubby I could travel freely about our State of Victoria, and also during Melbourne – Australia’s COVID-19 lockdown – where photography was restricted to our home environment.  Some were taken with my Sony long lens, some with my Sony Macro lens and others with my Mobile Phone.

Photography is just another way to improve one’s sense of wellbeing and while at the same time be creative, and especially in times such as these during COVID-19 Lockdowns…

INTRODUCTION

There have been many photography adventures in 2019 and all in the state of Victoria, Australia, and within car travelling distance from where we live in Melbourne. Most of my photography adventures have been with my hubby, but on some occasions with my daughter and granddaughter, and at other times, with the Craigieburn Camera Club.  Throughout each season during 2019 – I experimented and experienced photographing across numerous genres that being:- Landscape, Seascape, Animals, Birds, Butterflies, Garden, Street and People photography.

With each photography adventure, I have learned more about photography, about how to use light and contrast to enhance the images, how to improve my composition through really looking, how to use my equipment better, and also how to improve my skills while developing the raw images using Lightroom.

But overall, the most important part of this ongoing journey has been and hopefully will still be – time spent with loved ones while enjoying the great outdoors!  It has truly helped improve our sense of well being. It has deepened our appreciation for how fortunate we are, and about how important it is to value and care for this beautiful and wonderful blue planet we share with all living creatures…
