“Photography: Painting and Drawing with Light”
This particular photography adventure, back in June 2018, was more about spending time with my daughter, baby granddaughter and hubby on one of Victoria’s beautiful sunny winter days. As we travelled along the Northwood Road which winds alongside of the Goulburn River, Seymour, Victoria – Australia, we came across the historical Old Goulburn River Bridge. From 1853 to 1966 it was an important river crossing, but now stands as an impressive monument of its time! This elegant wooden structure today nestles quietly in amongst native Australian bush. Beautiful river reflections help show-off its well-preserved 19th century construction of rolled steel joists, transversely and longitudinally planked grey box timber deck supported on cross-beams (Heritage Council 2006). We had a lovely time together enjoying the beauty of the Goulburn River.
PHOTOGRAPHY EQUIPMENT USED
During this landscape photography exercise – I used a compact system camera, a Sony A7 Mark II – Full Frame with a Sony A FE24-240mm F3.5-6.3 OSS Lens. For these photographs I used the camera mounted on a tripod. I also used my Apple iPhone 8 Plus mobile phone for quick spontaneous photographs and gain GPS location readings.
On my return home, I downloaded all the photographs into Adobe Lightroom Classic CC. I developed a small selection of photographs. During the process of developing them I was able to see what I needed to address during my next photographic adventure. Please find both above and below, the best of what I took during this photography adventure! Because the day was really about spending time with my family, I didn’t take very many photographs and the above is the only one I was truly happy to show here within this blog. Beautiful reflections in the Goulburn River of the historic bridge make it a very attractive place for photography.
Being out-and-about experiencing the natural wonders of the world really does rejuvenate the body and soul. Photography is just another way to improve one’s sense of wellbeing and at the same time – be creative!
