INTRODUCTION

A photography adventure just down the road from where we live was enough for us on this day!  During winter Mickleham, Victoria – Australia, becomes a wintergreen visual feast featuring lush green grass-covered fields, dotted gum trees here and there, and in the far distance, Mount Macedon Ranges can be seen.  The morning light was just beautiful on this day, and I was able to capture these images before the clouds covered the whole of the sky.  So nice to be able to just drive locally to capture great landscape scenes.  Sadly, since the time I took these photographs, Melbourne – Australia has gone back into ‘lockdown’ due to increased numbers of people with Covide-19 virus.  For me, my photography adventures will now need to be around the home.  There will also be photographic opportunities across from where we live as there is a big open field and creek which I will be able to explore during this time safely. Hubby and I are more fortunate than some, not doing badly during this period of time, but it is a constant worry because of our ages, so time to be ever so careful!

CONCLUSION

Photography is just another way to improve one’s sense of wellbeing and at the same time – be creative. Being out-and-about experiencing the natural wonders of the world and the creatures it inhabits is a real privilege for sure. It really does rejuvenate the body and soul.

INTRODUCTION




I am not sure you could call this car trip a photography adventure!  The day was grey and overcast and I just couldn’t get inspired to truely look around me for photographic opportunities as we drove through Saint Andrews, Victoria – Australia.  Until we drove along Buttermans Track!  Here we discovered local vineyards stretching across hillsides and offering up a lush green feast for the eyes.  The sun was determined not to show its face and grey skies darken the overall scene.  It will have to be a location that hubby and I return to on a better day I feel.  So it meant we headed back home and on our way, a stop for coffee.  The grumpy me will stay home next time and only bring the inspired photographer me!


 


PHOTOGRAPHY EQUIPMENT USED


During this photography adventure – I used a compact system camera, a Sony A7 Mark II – Full Frame with a Sony A FE24-240mm F3.5-6.3 OSS lens. Recently I had purchased a Right Angle L Plate Bracket for my camera so that I could turn it to do portraits or landscape photographs more easily which worked a treat.  I also purchased a BH-40 Ballhead for my tripod and once more, it made taking my photographs not just easier but much more enjoyable. I also used my Apple iPhone 8 Plus mobile phone for quick spontaneous photographs and gain GPS location readings.


 


THE PHOTOGRAPHS


On my return home, I downloaded all the photographs (which on this occasion was just a couple) into Adobe Lightroom Classic.  I developed a small selection (the one really) of photographs.  During the process of developing then I was able to see what I needed to address during my next photographic adventure.   Please find here above and below, the best of what I took during this photography adventure!


 


 
 
 
  
 
  
  


 


CONCLUSION


Being out-and-about experiencing the natural wonders of the world and the creatures it inhabits – really does rejuvenate the body and soul. But on this occasion, I would have been better off staying at home – I wasn’t myself! But Photography is just another way to improve one’s sense of wellbeing and at the same time – be creative!

INTRODUCTION


Strath Creek, Victoria – Australia is one of my favourite photography adventure locations, especially during the Autumn and Winter times of the year.  During these times, seasonal rains transform the local countryside from summertime dry brown to winter lush green!  It was just by good fortune we came across this particular location.  A dead-end road through local farming land revealed such beautiful panoramic landscape.  On our return home, we noted to come back again here to especially photograph birds.  Once again feeling tired but most fortunate to be able to take in some of the worlds most beautiful and peaceful locations – photographers’ paradise for sure…


 


 
 
 
  
 
  
  


 


 


 


PHOTOGRAPHY EQUIPMENT USED


During this photography exercise – I used a compact system camera, a Sony A7 Mark II – Full Frame with a Sony A FE24-240mm F3.5-6.3 OSS lens and my new (bird) lens, a Sigma150-600mm F5-6.3 DGOS HSM with a Sigma Mount Converter MC-11. I handheld the camera or mounted it on a Wimberley WH-200 Gimbal Tripod Head II with quick release base. I also used my Apple iPhone 8 Plus mobile phone for quick spontaneous photographs and gain GPS location readings.


 


 


 
 
 
  
 
  
  


 


 


THE PHOTOGRAPHS
