was thrilled to have received these Awards and thankful to the club for working out a way to continue on with these events despite the limitations we all facing currently because of COVID-19 restrictions.

CONCLUSION

Being out-and-about experiencing the natural wonders of the world and the creatures it inhabits – really does rejuvenate the body and soul. But over the past months – these adventures have been put on hold and/or restricted due to COVID-19 pandemic. With Government announcements this week it looks like we in Victoria, Australia could be experiencing more freedom soon.

INTRODUCTION

This photography adventure was all about attending the 64th Convention & Inter-Club Exhibition 2018 at Warrnambool, Victoria – Australia.  My hubby and I drove there – taking about four hours by car to join up with other Craigieburn Club Members at a rental house just outside of Warrnambool.  The convention which is run by VAP’s (Victorian Association of Photographic Societies) had over 220 delegates plus – in attend over three days.  Our club, the Craigieburn Camera Club had submitted the required 15 prints per club from members.  I had been fortunate enough to have had one selected for the club.  It was a photograph I took back in January 2017 of farmland in Mickleham, Victoria – Australia.  January is usually a dry time of the year, and with the sunset looming behind the clouds, the fields yielded a beautiful golden colour, which posed a lovely contrast to the ominous clouds to the left, and a pretty blue sky to the right.  My photograph of this landscape rated 12 out of 15 which was the highest rating within the Craigieburn Camera Club set of prints submitted at the convention.  This made my hubby and I happy and it was such a pleasant surprise.

PHOTOGRAPHY EQUIPMENT USED

During this landscape photography of the Mickleham Farmland, I used an old camera which since then I have had to replace.  It was a Canon EOS 1100D with a EF-S18-55mm F/3.5-5.6 lens.  The capture time was 6.29pm on the 31 Jan 2017.  Exposure 1/200 sec at F/8.0, focal length 27mm with an ISO speed rating of 100.

THE PHOTOGRAPH

On my return home, I always download all the photographs into Adobe Lightroom Classic CC.  I developed a small selection of photographs This process helps to establish what I need to work on to ensure my photography skills improve overtime.

CONCLUSION

It was a great trip to Warrnambool, spending time with other club members, having the opportunity to experience what others are doing in the world of photography.  We came away knowing that this is the right interest for us now at this time of our lives, as it gives us much pleasure getting out-and-about looking for and enjoying photography adventures …

Happy photography all!…
