INTRODUCTION

Over a couple of weekends, Hubby and I travelled around some of Victoria’s rural countryside discovering and rediscovering locations to photograph. For these locations we decided to rise early so as to be on site for sunrise shots. It proved to be difficult to do due to the cloud coverage, but I made the best of what was available.  No matter the weather conditions it was wonderful to be out-and-about early in the day!  The fresh air, sounds of nature, cool temperature, and the solitude of the locations was spiritually uplifting.

CONCLUSION

Photography is just another way to improve one’s sense of wellbeing and at the same time – be creative. Being out-and-about experiencing the wonders of the world and the creatures it inhabits is a real privilege for sure. It really does rejuvenate the body and soul.

INTRODUCTION

It’s summertime and the Australian rural landscape can present some very dry conditions, a vast contrast to the greenness of winter landscapes. The bushfire smoke-filled sky finally gave way to some clear blue sky during this particular photography adventure!  We drove through Tooborac as featured in the photograph I took above.  Far in the distance, you can see cattle grazing along the hillside.  In the below photograph, cattle wander through huge granite boulders, some boulders perched in ways that seem impossible to maintain their position.  At Pyalong we sighted a herd of sheep.  Usually, when I try to photograph sheep, they muster off in the opposite direction.  But this time they eagerly came towards us which was a clear indication they thought we had food for them.  A sign of the times.  Tallarook drive revealed some native Australian bush where it became possible to see why bushfires race through such areas of vegetation.  It was very dry with plenty of debris ground coverage and bone dry river beds.  Our day trip proved to be an interesting outing revealing once more just how climatic conditions are problematic and global warming a huge challenge for humankind…

PHOTOGRAPHY EQUIPMENT USED

During this photography adventure – I used a compact system camera, a Sony A7 Mark II – Full Frame with a Sony A FE24-240mm F3.5-6.3 OSS lens. Recently I had purchased a Right Angle L Plate Bracket for my camera so that I could turn it to do portraits or landscape photographs more easily which worked a treat.  I also purchased a BH-40 Ballhead for my tripod and once more, it made taking my photographs not just easier but much more enjoyable. I also used my Apple iPhone 8 Plus mobile phone for quick spontaneous photographs and gain GPS location readings.

THE PHOTOGRAPHS

On my return home, I downloaded all the photographs into Adobe Lightroom Classic.  I developed a small selection of photographs During the process of developing then I was able to see what I needed to address during my next photographic adventure.   Please find here above, the best of what I took during this photography adventure!
