INTRODUCTION

I am not sure you could call this car trip a photography adventure!  The day was grey and overcast and I just couldn’t get inspired to truely look around me for photographic opportunities as we drove through Saint Andrews, Victoria – Australia.  Until we drove along Buttermans Track!  Here we discovered local vineyards stretching across hillsides and offering up a lush green feast for the eyes.  The sun was determined not to show its face and grey skies darken the overall scene.  It will have to be a location that hubby and I return to on a better day I feel.  So it meant we headed back home and on our way, a stop for coffee.  The grumpy me will stay home next time and only bring the inspired photographer me!

PHOTOGRAPHY EQUIPMENT USED

During this photography adventure – I used a compact system camera, a Sony A7 Mark II – Full Frame with a Sony A FE24-240mm F3.5-6.3 OSS lens. Recently I had purchased a Right Angle L Plate Bracket for my camera so that I could turn it to do portraits or landscape photographs more easily which worked a treat.  I also purchased a BH-40 Ballhead for my tripod and once more, it made taking my photographs not just easier but much more enjoyable. I also used my Apple iPhone 8 Plus mobile phone for quick spontaneous photographs and gain GPS location readings.

THE PHOTOGRAPHS

On my return home, I downloaded all the photographs (which on this occasion was just a couple) into Adobe Lightroom Classic.  I developed a small selection (the one really) of photographs During the process of developing then I was able to see what I needed to address during my next photographic adventure.   Please find here above and below, the best of what I took during this photography adventure!

CONCLUSION

Being out-and-about experiencing the natural wonders of the world and the creatures it inhabits – really does rejuvenate the body and soul. But on this occasion, I would have been better off staying at home – I wasn’t myself! But Photography is just another way to improve one’s sense of wellbeing and at the same time – be creative!

INTRODUCTION

During this photography adventurewe decided to visit the Langi Ghiran State Park, Warrak, Victoria – Australia.  Here we discovered a beautiful secluded reservoir named Langi Ghiran where I was able to photograph wonderful reflections of Australian native gum trees in the nearly still waters.  Access to this region required us to travel along dirt tracks where we had to drive carefully in order not to damage our little car as it is not a 4 wheel drive!  The Easter Creek Track leads us through a small valley of trees standing amoungst lush green ferns, very picturesque.  A short walk up the track had us finding the region’s local lookout where vast panoramic views revealed farming plains and distant mountain ranges. But sadly the view from the lookout was mostly obscured by large tree branches.  The weather was mild, with clear blue skies above us and with the sun shining brightly made for an enjoyable photography adventure

INTRODUCTION

On our way back home from Warrnambool to Melbourne – Australia after spending a number of photography adventure days photographing around the region, we stopped to take some photographs at Mepunga – Bay of Islands Coastal Park.  Here we had the opportunity to view beautiful coastal cliffs and rock formations.  Lush green coastal vegetation, yellow and orange sands, deep blue sea and blue skies with storm clouds drifting across created an ideal location for a keen photographer such as me.  Although my tiredness from our 3 days of travel did dampen my enthusiasm on this occasion.  Will need to return hopefully one day to actually take the walk along the beach itself!

INTRODUCTION

During our photography adventure journey between Melbourne and Warrnambool – Australia, we decided to get up early one morning and head towards Penshurst which has within its region, a lookout positioned atop of Mount Rouse.  Here we found magnificent 360-degree views stretching across vast farming fields.  While the early morning was cold, rainy and cloudy we experienced a beautiful sunrise.  We were the only ones there at that particular time of the day and it was spiritually uplifting watching a new day being born and hearing all the native bird wildlife chirping away as the sun rose. On our way back down from the top of Mount Rouse, we encountered numerous mobs of Kangaroos hopping on and alongside the road. We found it most enjoyable to watch them as they bounded off into the surrounding native bush.  Another photography adventure achieved and leaving us feeling good about the world around us…

INTRODUCTION

On our way back home from Warrnambool to Melbourne – Australia after spending a number of photography adventure days photographing around the region, we stopped to take some photographs at Logans Beach.  The day was overcast but fortunately, short bursts of sunshine bathed the shoreline with a soft light. I tried my best to capture and develop photographs that highlighted the beauty of this beach shoreline that was strangely deserted considering it was so close to the main road.  A pleasing moment spent at Logans Beach…

INTRODUCTION

Some of our photography adventures take us to places where my hubby can do a spot of fishing.  One of his favourite locations is Acheron, Victoria – Australia where the Goulburn River runs closely alongside local farming properties.  While hubby fished I photographed points of interest along the well-trodden path beside the river.  It was a beautiful spring day, the temperature just right for being out-and-about.  No fish for dinner but still a most enjoyable photography adventure for sure!

INTRODUCTION

During our driving trip up to Bright, Victoria – Australia, we stopped at a number of scenic spots during this photography adventure. Our very first stop for the day was a spontaneous one!  We stopped to take photographs at the Murchison Gap Lookout. I was able to capture a magnificent sunrise with early morning mist drifting throughtout the valleys.  It’s a region titled Valley of a Thousand Hills. Cool blue skies and early morning golden sunlight bathed the region giving it a mystical feel and look.  It was truly a beautiful sight.

INTRODUCTION

During our driving trip up to Bright, Victoria – Australia, we stopped at a number of scenic spots during this photography adventure. Our first stop was at a farm on Snow River Road, Markwood where old gum trees were growing in a shallow pond that was supporting local native wildlife. We then took a small detour along Nug Nug Road, Nug Nug where we discovered cattle happily grazing on bright green pastures that were backdropped by heavily forested mountain ranges, set far in the distance.  Then onto Myrtleford next to the Ovens River.  Here my hubby discovered a beautiful part of the river. Freshly melted aqua blue snow from distant mountains flowed endlessly across river rocks making them bright orange.  From here it was onto Mount Buffalo along Mount Buffalo Road up in the high mountains to the Mount Buffalo Lookout region. We found stunning panoramic views across valleys and beyond.  On our way back home we eventually stopped at Bright. We had a great dinner at the local hotel and then back home later that evening.  It was a very big day for us both but I was able to capture photographs of our beautiful Victoria – Australia at one of the best times of the year-end…

INTRODUCTION

On this day, one beautiful spring morning, I decided to visit the region of Wallan, Victoria – Australia.  During the year, my hubby and I regularly drive past these fields on our way to visit our daughter and her family.  During September magnificent Canola fields of bright yellow stretch out across the landscape as far as the eye can see.  I have always wanted to see if I could photograph them while they looked their best!  The morning light was beautiful and we were able to drive to a location where mountains could be included in the composition along with a scattering of clouds set against pretty blue skies.  A mini photography adventure
