INTRODUCTION

Autumn time has arrived in our part of the world Victoria, Australia where deciduous trees lose their colourful display of leaves.  Therefore – time again for hubby and me to revisit the Mount Macedon region which is renowned for its beautiful gardens, especially at this time of the year. This photography adventure involved visiting Duneira Heritage Garden located not far from the Major Mitchell Lookout.  At the lookout, we experienced a stunning view that encompassed a rocky foreground, tall lanky gum trees saddled each side of the view leading down towards far distant farming properties. And completing this stunning picture, a pretty blue sky dotted with white fluffy clouds!  At Duneira Heritage Gardens we discovered 16 acres of garden that showcased “a staggering variety of exotic trees and shrubs”.  At the completion of our wanderings, we stopped for a coffee and seated ourselves on one of the wooden garden benches overlooking expanses of green lawn dwarfed by ancient trees.  Another photography adventure achieved and once more ticking the happy box

PHOTOGRAPHY EQUIPMENT USED

During this photography exercise – I used a compact system camera, a Sony A7 Mark II – Full Frame with a Sony A FE24-240mm F3.5-6.3 OSS Lens, and a Sigma150-600mm F5-6.3 DGOS HSM with a Sigma Mount Converter MC-11. For some of these photographs, I used the camera hand-held but for most of the shots, I used a Wimberley WH-200 Gimbal Tripod Head II with quick release base. I also used my Apple iPhone 8 Plus mobile phone for quick spontaneous photographs and gain GPS location readings.

THE PHOTOGRAPHS

On my return home, I downloaded all the photographs into Adobe Lightroom Classic CC.  I developed a small selection of photographs During the process of developing them, I was able to see what I needed to address during my next photographic adventure.   Please find both above and below, the best of what I took during this photography adventure!

CONCLUSION

Being out-and-about experiencing the natural wonders of the world and the creatures it inhabits – really does rejuvenate the body and soul.  Photography is just another way to improve one’s sense of wellbeing and at the same time – be creative!
