INTRODUCTION

Our photography adventure this time had us arriving at Mount Elephant, the volcanic hinterland of Derrinallum, Victoria – Australia.  Amazing views around the base of Mount Elephant and views from walking tracks on the side and top of Mount Elephant itself – were spectacular!  The day’s weather allowed for great photo-taking opportunities.  The walk itself was a bit of an ordeal for both of us, now that we are in our mid 60’s. We decided to only do part of the walk this time, leaving reaching the very top for another visit during September/October when farming fields of flowering canola can be viewed from the very top of Mount Elephant.  A beautiful day’s drive there and back, the energising walk and opportunity to photograph another scenic location had us feeling most fortunate once more…

PHOTOGRAPHY EQUIPMENT USED

During this photography adventure – I used a compact system camera, a Sony A7 Mark II – Full Frame with a Sony A FE24-240mm F3.5-6.3 OSS lens and my new (bird) lens, a Sigma150-600mm F5-6.3 DGOS HSM with a Sigma Mount Converter MC-11. I handheld the camera or mounted it on a Wimberley WH-200 Gimbal Tripod Head II with quick release base. I also used my Apple iPhone 8 Plus mobile phone for quick spontaneous photographs and gain GPS location readings.

THE PHOTOGRAPHS

On my return home, I downloaded all the photographs into Adobe Lightroom Classic CC.  I developed a small selection of photographs During the process of developing then I was able to see what I needed to address during my next photographic adventure.   Please find both above and below, the best of what I took during this photography adventure!

CONCLUSION

Being out-and-about experiencing the natural wonders of the world and the creatures it inhabits – really does rejuvenate the body and soul.  Photography is just another way to improve one’s sense of wellbeing and at the same time – be creative!

    • Thank you for stopping and taking a look! So glad inspiration can be gained through these photography adventure blogs, and just taking a good mobile phone can do the trick as well. Good luck with your cycling photography adventure … warm regards Karen

    • Thank you Claudia for your ongoing support and your thoughtful comments. Mount Elephant was once covered in trees until bushfires and logging distroyed its natural vegitation. The local community over some years now, have been replanting trees, so in some 20 to 30 years time Mount Elephant will look more like its orginal state…warm regards Karen
