INTRODUCTION

The aim of this travel and photography adventure, which my husband and I did on two separate occasions, was to capture the essence of the rugged natural beauty of Werribee Gorge. It is situated within the Werribee Gorge State Park, Victoria – Australia and displays 500 million years of geological history! The wild and rugged landscape of 575 hectare park protects native flora and fauna, offers spectacular views, and has great opportunities for bushwalking and rock climbing” (Parks Victoria 2017).  Our first occasion visiting this region involved embarking on a long walk through open woodlands with rocks covered in Lichen, and walking through the picturesque Ironbark Gorge showing off panoramic views of the gorge and beyond (Parks Victoria 2017). The second occasion worked out to be perfect day for a long bush walk, sunny with cool temperatures throughout the day.  We decided to take the river walk this time which provided excellent views along the gorge rim, steep in some places of the track but we managed to walk most of the track, up until the path ran out.

PHOTOGRAPHY EQUIPMENT USED

During this landscape photography  exercise – I used a compact system camera, a Sony A7 Mark II – Full Frame with a Sony A FE24-240mm F3.5-6.3 OSS Lense. For some of the shots, I used the camera hand-held, and for others, I used the camera mounted on a tripod with a remote timer.  Each photography adventure helps me learn more and more about my camera and lense; and hopefully helps me becoming a better photographer. I also used my Samsung Galaxy S6 mobile phone for quick spontaneous photographs and gain GPS location readings.

THE PHOTOGRAPHS

On my return home, I downloaded all the photographs into Adobe Lightroom 6.  I developed a small selection of photographs During the process of developing them I was able to see what I needed to address during my next photographic adventure.   Please find both above and below the best of what I took during this travel and photography adventure!
