“Photography: Painting and Drawing with Light”
INTRODUCTION
During our car drive back home after visiting my hubby’s brother’s place in Bruthen, Victoria – Australia, we decided to take the long drive back to Melbourne via Tarra Valley Road – Tarra Valley, Victoria – Australia. Further along and past Tarra Valley we came across Mount Tassie lookout situated on Callignee S Road where we viewed expansive panoramic views of Mount Tassie State Forest and surrounding region. The views were spectacular – white and yellow wildflowers dotted the green grassy foreground with deep green tree covered mountains in the background, topped with a beautiful blue sky. It was a perfect day to be at this location and the last leg of our photography adventure for the day!
PHOTOGRAPHY EQUIPMENT USED
During this photography exercise – I used a compact system camera, a Sony A7 Mark II – Full Frame with a Sony A FE24-240mm F3.5-6.3 OSS lens and my new (bird) lens, a Sigma150-600mm F5-6.3 DGOS HSM with a Sigma Mount Converter MC-11. I handheld the camera or mounted it on a Wimberley WH-200 Gimbal Tripod Head II with quick release base. I also used my Apple iPhone 8 Plus mobile phone for quick spontaneous photographs and gain GPS location readings.
THE PHOTOGRAPHS
On my return home, I downloaded all the photographs into Adobe Lightroom Classic CC. I developed a small selection of photographs. During the process of developing them I was able to see what I needed to address during my next photographic adventure. Please find both above and below, the best of what I took during this photography adventure!
CONCLUSION
Being out-and-about experiencing the natural wonders of the world and the creatures it inhabits – really does rejuvenate the body and soul. Photography is just another way to improve one’s sense of wellbeing and at the same time – be creative!

Hi Claudia…by the time we stumbled on this location on our way back home that day – we were tired so getting out of the car to stretch our legs at this hidden lookout give us a renewed energy! Views like these make you realise just how small we humans are – puts things in perspective…warm regards Karen
