“Photography:  Painting and Drawing with Light”

INTRODUCTION

On this day, one beautiful spring morning, I decided to visit the region of Wallan, Victoria – Australia.  During the year, my hubby and I regularly drive past these fields on our way to visit our daughter and her family.  During September magnificent Canola fields of bright yellow stretch out across the landscape as far as the eye can see.  I have always wanted to see if I could photograph them while they looked their best!  The morning light was beautiful and we were able to drive to a location where mountains could be included in the composition along with a scattering of clouds set against pretty blue skies.  A mini photography adventure

PHOTOGRAPHY EQUIPMENT USED

During this photography adventure – I used a compact system camera, a Sony A7 Mark II – Full Frame with a Sony A FE24-240mm F3.5-6.3 OSS lens. Recently I had purchased a Right Angle L Plate Bracket for my camera so that I could turn it to do portraits or landscape photographs more easily which worked a treat.  I also purchased a BH-40 Ballhead for my tripod and once more, it made taking my photographs not just easier but much more enjoyable. I also used my Apple iPhone 8 Plus mobile phone for quick spontaneous photographs and gain GPS location readings.

THE PHOTOGRAPHS

On my return home, I downloaded all the photographs into Adobe Lightroom Classic CC.  I developed a small selection of photographs During the process of developing then I was able to see what I needed to address during my next photographic adventure.   Please find above only, the best of what I took during this photography adventure!

CONCLUSION

Being out-and-about experiencing the natural wonders of the world and the creatures it inhabits – really does rejuvenate the body and soul.  Photography is just another way to improve one’s sense of wellbeing and at the same time – be creative!

Happy photography all – © Karen Robinson – September 2019
